Q: lung nodules and fluid around kidney

My grandmother just got results back from a CT scan yesterday. They found 2 nodules in her lung. They are sending her to lung specialist on May 4th. They also found fluid gathering around her kidney. They are sending her to have an ultrasound on Wednesday. What causes fluid to build up outside the kidney? and what can be done about it?
