HiDR,
I have been diagnosed last year for Lung Sarcoidosis. I NEVER SMOKED,but grew up with family who has been heavy smokers. I had to take Prednisone 30mg a day. It was too strong, then reduced to 15mg a day. I had alot of side effects such as severe leg and foot cramps, acidity in stomach, indigetion, bloatedness, constipated, depression, hairloss, headaches and due to this I stopped and tried to go the herbal way using drops to control my persistent cough. I was okay untill 2 weeks ago when I started to become more shortness of breath than usual as well as pain under the left breast and side. I went to a GP who put me back on the Prednisone 30mg a day, the pain did subside slightly, but still there especially very painful when I cough. I have to hold my hands to keep it firm when I cough.I also went for an X-Ray, the Dr called me to say that I don't need to worry, there is no active growths going on. I still don't understand why do I still feel xtremely fatigued, the pain is still there. Do I have to wait for the Prednisone to work through? Does it take so long? (almost bit more than a week); Can the DR Please explain in detail what exactly this X-Ray results are saying to me and is it possible that an X-Ray would not always see what exactly is causing the pain and tightness over the left breast and lungs? Herewith: CHEST X-RAY RESULTS: There is no Cardiac enlargement or evidence of failure. Both upper lobes show considerable scarring with secondary emphysematous bullae. The appearance is compatible with previous tuberculosis or possibly previous sarcoidosis. No active pulmonary disease is seen on iether side. Parenchymal scarring is noted at the left base. No other changes are detected.

I also have Sarcoid. They say mine is not active either. I had a lung lobectomy VATS (lung biopsy) to find that out. How did they diagnose your sarcoid? I had several nodules and scar tissue. I have pain once in a while too. Did they say anything about pleursy? I had that several times and was in excruciating pain. I would have to hold my chest to even breath. I ended up in the emergency room where they gave be a neb treatment and toradol shot. I was put on antibiotics and it eventually went away. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. No, nothing of pleursy, occasional pain especially when coughing and eventually it gets so bad that I sprain a mussel. Are you also on Prednisone? I find it bloating me more and more & gaining more weight.Good Luck to you too.
