Is he prone to frequent lung infections, like pneumonia?
Does he feel chest pain at that moments?
Is he usually getting sick and this period last anytime between 6 hours and 4 days? What other symptoms he has?

You friend is experiencing pleurisy, an inflammation of the pleura, the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs.
Pleurisy occurs when the two layers of the pleura become red and inflamed.
In some cases of pleurisy, excess fluid builds up in the pleural space (space between the two layers of pleura).
Chest pain, cough, shortness of breath and fever are common symptoms.
There are different infective and non-infective causes for this condition (pneumonia, reumatic fever, genetic disorder, connective tissue disorders)

My friend had the same thing. I doubt it was lung cancer. Cancerous cells spread very fast in case of lung cancer, he was getting very tensed. Along with some prescribed medicines of doctor he started using Curcumin Extract Capsules.

Pleurisy can be solved if the reason for pleurisy is detected and if that reason is potentially fixable.
If it is some kind of infection, pneumonia or tuberculosis, when cleaned away, the pleurisy will be manged, too.
But, if the pleurisy occurs in conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, systemic diseases, it will be very frequent problem.
Lung cancers cause pleurisy, too.
