Q: lumps on groin area

I found a lump on my upper inner left thigh, so far up it could be considered to be in the groin area. I found it a month ago, thinking it could be an ingrown hair, but it hasn't gone away. It doesn't hurt, and it's hard, about the size of two peas. Then last night I found another lump on the outside of the same thigh a little lower than the other. I've made an appointment with my doctor, but I'm worried. What could it be?
