Q: lumps near vagina

Off and on for at least a year I have been getting these lumps on my vagina, they are odd shaped and they last from 4 to 10 days. They start out small and get bigger the longer they last. Eventually as the skin is stretched as far as it is going to go that is when the pain starts and within a day or so they burst. From time to time the burst has some blood in it but mostly some clear liquid. This last one bled alot I actually thought I has started my period. I have gone to the doctor before and he said they were clogged sweat glands, my choices were to deal with it or have them removed surgically. I am worried that he has misdiagnoised me and this is something much worse.. why would a sweat gland break and bleed? Any opinions would be helpful....
