Q: lump under skin

I have a lump on my face underneath the skin that has been there for about a year or so. It's on my left cheek bone. It's about the size of a marble (a little bit smaller) and it feels like cartilage. I was punched in the face in that exact spot a few months before I noticed the lump developing (long story). Since then, it has grown and slightly fluctuated in size.
Last night I was fed up with the damn thing. I took a bottle of whiskey and a safety pin and stabbed it about five or six times. Nothing but a drop of blood came out. No puss or anything.
What the hell is it?
Any ideas are very appreciated.
