Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone might know what this is. I have a lump about the size of a quarter on my inner thigh. Its about 2 inches from my underwear line. Its very red and the very tip appears to be red. There is no sign of a whitehead or ingrown hair, hair doesnt really grow in this area either.

It doesnt feel like it can be popped because it feels like its very deep. The lump is solid and hard not soft at all. It hurts like hell when i walk or sit down. The only thing I can think of is a bug bite cause 2 nights ago I woke up scrtching it and then realized that it hurt to scratch and thats when I felt it. The lump has grown in size. But again it doesnt feel like its on the surfice of my skin but inside.

Any ideas?

Well this lump is getting bigger and bigger. I have had to bandage it so it wont rub in between my thighs. The mass is definately bigger than yesterday too....When should I see someone about this?

Well this is an overdue update. The growth turned out to be a MRSA infection. I was treated with antobiotics and so far the MRSA has left my body. Yeah!!!

They ended up having to cut the mass out. Which was extremely painful by the way. I had to go back twice to have it cleaned out and packed. it has since healed completly. I have to have swabs done of my nose done every month to see if the MRSA is present. But so far all swabs have come back negative.

If you have a mass that is like mine or that persists for 1wk or more and is really really painful, I suggest seeing a doctor ASAP. It could be something minor or like in my case, develop into something more serious.
