Q: Lump on Iliac bone

Last week I found a small hard lump on my lower back, that when examined by a doctor turns out to be located on my left iliac bone. I had tests two days ago and now await the results with trepidation. I have done some research on the internet which has pointed me more often than not at the worst case scenario; cancer.

I would like to ask if anybody can shed some light on a possible diagnosis. The lump itself is oblong in shape with some, albeit limited, movement when heavy pressure is applied. On that note, the lump itself is not painful, yet I do experience some discomfort and on occasion some pain around the lump and in the lower back area. Although I do not expect a spot-on conclusion based on my aforementioned description, any indicators would be appreciated. Thank you.
