Q: Lump on buttock

Hi all,

For a good few months now, I've had a lump on my buttock - it's just to the left of the anus, and it's about the size of a marble. It's totally under the skin, so nothing to see, but I can feel it. About 2-3 days before my period it seems to either get bigger or come closer to the surface, and it gets quite tender. This month it got quite saw and the area around it swelled up a little making it painful to sit on hard chairs Shocked

I WILL go to the doctor about it, I know I have to, but I'm really embarrassed and really worried about what it can be. My mum thinks maybe it could be a boil - but there's no redness etc to it, and would that really be effected by my menstural cycle?

Any suggestions would really help!

Thanks in advance
