so...i am 20 years old and i have had this bump on my leg between where my upper thigh joins with my bikini area for some years now. It first showed up when i was about 14 and was the size of the tip of my thumb, but after a month r so went away so i figured it must have been an ingrown hair that healed on its own. WRONG!!It returned (or maybe it just didn't bother me enough to notice it) probably around 2 years later, and has remained ever sense. But now it has grown, it is about the size between a nickle and a quarter. It is not warm to the touch or discolored in any way, you cant really even see it unless you look at it from a certain angle, it doesn't bump out. It is hard and soft at the same time, and when it is pressured by squeezing or pressed, it hurts. I don't think it is a boil because it doesn't get any larger when i have squeezed it or pressed it. In fact it even feels slightly bumpy when it is touched. And there is no possibility of it being an STD. Hopefully someone will be able to help me out because it is worrying me the more i think about it.:/

It might be a swollen lymph node. I would go to your doc to check though, because rarely, women can get inguinal hernias, where a tiny piece of intestine loops into a place it is not supposed to be. It does not sound like that is the case for you, because generally inguinal hernias remain until repaired. They also hurt a bit and bulge worse when you cough, cry or strain. Sounds more like you have a lymph node that happens to be swollen. Swollen lymph nodes hurt when you squeeze them, have the feel of being hard and soft at the same time. I would still see your doc.
