Q: Lump on back of neck

Hi, I'm 21 and I came across something that has been bothering me for the past few weeks. I went to rub the back of my neck one day and felt is firm, non-moving lump on the lower right side of the back of my neck, only slightly rubbery, but not really. Shocked it's below the skin, like almost in the trapizius (for locational purposes) it's about the size of a Vicodin 5/500 and only hurts when pressed, or else I can just ignore it. I don't have insurance so no one will biopsy or run labs on it, and I don't know where to turn. I'm a smoker, been one for 6 years (am trying to quit) and I do get frequent headaches if any of this helps. I don't think there is a lymph there, it would be an odd place for a lymph but you never know. It would be a relief to know it's some sort of muscle problem from pushing carts around at work...
