Q: lump near groin - lymph node ?

Hi was wanderering if you could help me I have just recently in the last 3 weeks stopped taking the Yasmine contraceptive pill as it was making me really ill, but it seems to have caused havoc with my body, i was in bed the other morning and i felt a sharp pain which felt like a period pain even though im not due on, i then noticed near my groin a hardish quite long lump it doesnt hurt but goes and comes back every now and again i went to my docters but not bein rude they are useless i diagnose myself everytime i go there, but she said it was nothing, i Know im no docter but i Have a feeling its my lymph glands it doesnt hurt but would like a professional opinion hope you can help

It does seem like doctors dismiss anything they can't figure out. It's difficult to tell you what it is because lumps can be a lot of different things. It's a good sign that it doesn't hurt and it could just be a side effect from that medication you stopped. Did you go to a GYN? You could always get a second opinion from another doctor. Insist they run some tests to see what it is and make sure you don't have some kind of infection.
