For a month i have had a feeling of a lump in my throat. It seems to go from low to high in my throat and is progressively getting worse. It used to be only at night and i now have this sensation all day. My doctor said it was stress and gave me zanax that did make it go away for a little while but now has come back and getting worse. I only take the zanax mainly at night just to be able to fall asleep because its so scary. I can breath just fine although once and a while i have trouble when i have a panic attack over it. I can swallow food fine too. I have had a ct scan and xrays and they have been normal. I go to an ENT doc in two weeks but dont know what to do till then. Its beginning to tear me down and im so tired of it. It like a golf ball in my throat, or like im ready to cry my eyes out, or have been yelling for an hour straight. It sometimes makes me nauseous and can make me gag. If anyone has any suggestions i would GREATLY appreciate them. I dont know what to do for this anymore.

Hi and welcome to the board
I have read you intire post. I have two issues with it. 1) It could be that you might be suffering from a little bit more severe anxiety then your doctor had thought. I would call and make another appointment with you GP and let him/her know what is going on. If you have insurance, they might like to do a test to make sure there is nothing in the thoat area that could be causing this. Anxiety may just be the culprit here. Be better safe then sorry.

If could be that you're body is too 'heaty' I suggest that you drink a lot of water and see wheater if the symptoms still persist. Sometimes our body show us the need for something by showing symptoms like these or break outs on the face. Good luck- Hart74
