I'm 19-years-old. This April, I failed to have a period. In May, I started on the 6th and lasted until June 7th (an *entire* month) but only because I went to the doctor and he prescribed me progesterone pills to stop my period. I began taking the pills on the 4th. After I took the pills for ten days, I had a normal period. Then this month I began taking the pills for another ten days, but as of today I'm done with that. However, four days ago I started to feel pain in my lower abdomen, in my pelvis. I felt there and on my left side there seems to be a lump whereas on my right side there is nothing. It's not a ball-shaped or anything, it feels as if I have a big worm in there, if that makes sense. If I push down on it, I feel no pain, but sometimes sitting down or laying down, even standing up it hurts a lot. At first I thought I may have strained something during exercise, but I figured that would have gone away by now. I had trouble producing a bowel movement the day before the pain began so I thought it was just that, but I've since had a bowel movement so I don't think that is the case. What's wrong with me?

I have the SAME THING!!! I am 25. I went to my ob/gyn for pelvic pain on my left side. She seemed to think it was probably a cyst so she started me on birth control pills. Well I still have the pain and I have noticed a worm or rope-like lump on my left side, maybe where my sigmoid colon or left ovary is? It is larger right before I have a bowel movement and decreases greatly in size after a bowel movement. However the pain is still there. It seems to hurt worse when I am sitting down. I go back to my doctor soon, but I have no idea what it could be. Have you figured anything out yet??

Lump in lower right pelvic area
I also have the same large rope like lump on the left size of my lower pelvic area (almost directly to the right of my hip bone) I am 23 years old, my period is extremely regular (every 28-29 days)but I have had a bit of trouble with constipation/hard ball like bowel movements. I first noticed the lump a few months ago, it isn't very painful but I do feel a lot of pressure, mostly when I am lying on my side or sitting. I went to a walk-in clinic and the doctor told me it was an enlarged lymph node and not to worry, he gave me an anti-inflammatory drug but the lump has not gone away, I haven't been able to get back in to see him. I am very worried, and would like to find out anything I possibly can. Please reply and let me know what you have found out.

Lump in uterus. Doesn't hurt at all.
I have the same issue and i have been experiencing it for about a month now. I started feeling nausiated when it first appeared, then i got a strange craving for Long John Silvers.. Yesterday i touched the spot with my index finger and my stomach kicked.. Freaked me out quite a bit. When i'm laying down i feel movement sometimes even when sitting up. but it's only in that one spot..It doesn't hurt at all when i touch it and it looks like i'm bloated. I'm not constipated or anything..Since i have relieved myself since. I have taken 2 cheap dollar pregnancy tests, one was invalid the other had one pink line. I went to the Doctor about a week ago and had a pregnancy test done as well as an x-ray to find out what was causing sharp pain in my lower abdomen. The doctor never told me my pregnancy test result..Which was a bit odd. I also told them that i was late on my period..i believe i'm about..2 or more weeks late. Strange right?

Lump in abdomen
Did you ever find out what was going on? I have the same EXACT problem. The past week, I have been puking though. I smoke cigarettes, and they make me sick to my stomach lately. This lump goes away for maybe an hour or so, then I feel it again. I think I might be pregnant. But I would only be a few weeks along. So I'm not sure what's going on. I took two pregnancy tests so far, and they both came back negative.

Hello dear hms. Pain in the lower abdomen can be associated with diseases of the genital organs (including the ovaries), intestines, urinary tract, of the spine. So to start You should consult with your doctor.

I'm always glad to help You.

left side of abdomen "worm-like" lump
I have the same "worm-like" thing. It's been there's for at least 5 months. It doesn't exactly hurt but feels tender I guess. It seems to sometimes have a pulse! I've had normal periods every month, never late, only rarely get cramping. I asked my doctor a couple months ago and she just pushed around on my belly. Said it was nothing. I was thinking its my intestine and was constipated but even after a bowel movement its still there. Sometimes its bigger and harder, but its always there. Has anyone found anything out?!

Rope like lump in left side of my uterus
Im 16 years old and I'm having the same issue. It started about a week ago, its feels like a rope lump, lots of pressure, but not much pain at all. However I feel very bloated, and for the past two days ive been feeling like i could start my period any second, but am showing no signs of a period. My menstrual cycle is pretty normal, i usually start on the 9th of every month and it lasts from 4-6 days everytime, i am currently taking no birth control medications. September, i started my period on the 7th and only spotted for 2 days. October i started later than usual and it lasted 6 days, i have yet to receive my period this month. Does anyone know what this is? What causes it? And how to get it to go away?

Lump left of pelvic area
I do not believe it has anything to do with your menstrual cycle ladies. I am 53, have not had a period in 2 years - menopause - and I just found a lump left of my pelvic bone 2 days ago . Like others, it is tender to touch. It feels the size of a marble. I go to my surgeon on Jan 12 so will ask him to look at it also. Everyone, quit alchohol and smoking, and eat lots of vegies and fresh fruit and vegie drinks.

I am almost 100% positive this is the answer to your question!
Hi, i came across this forum looking for the same information only my lump is on the right side and it's not worm-like, it's actually round. However, i actually might have an answer for you as far as the "worm-like" or "rope-like" mass in the lower left pelvic area. I noticed the same thing years ago and have since done my research and gone to the doctors. The doctors told me if you're on the skinnier side (are all of you on the skinnier side), you'll be more likely to feel more things on the inside than a heavier person. What you're feeling is your "Descending Colon"... i read a lot of you are dealing with some form of constipation which will cause the colon to spasm and because the descending colon is the last step before it exits your body, in plain terms you're feeling your poop through your abdomen/pelvis. Best advice would be to get either an extra gentle laxative and/or stool softeners that aren't as hard on the colon or stomach as a laxative. Once you have a decent bowel movement feel around the same area that you felt the worm-like structure and you'll be surprised that it will either be gone or significantly smaller. It's nothing to worry about unless it becomes increasingly harder or bigger. Due to the spastic nature of the colon with constipation, that is why it feels like a rope or a worm... because it's not contracting the way it should so it gets all bunched up and constricted. Drink lots of water and some fiber rich food or a fiber supplement along with the stool softener or laxative and it'll alleviate the discomfort or weirdness associated with being able to feel your descending colon filled with poop. Good Luck and hope this helps set your minds at ease! Smile

i'm 15 years old and I had the same exact thing that you have. It has a large lump on the left side of my pelvic area. Whenever i pressed on it, it would move and hurt. It was a swollen infected lymph node. I was put on antibiotics and had surgery to remove it. Go to the doctor you'll be fine most likely but if you let it go the infection can spread and you can become ill. i hope this helped and everything turns out okay

I am 47yrs old have had 4 children. My youngest is 17. I cant remember how long ago it started but it may have been anywhere from 5-7yrs ago but about a week before my period I begin to get a very sharp pain on my right pelvic area. For the past 2yrs the pain has gotten worse. Now the pain will come before my period and from time to time within a week after my period. The pain will usually go away if I take ibuprofen but yesterday the pain would not go away. Then as I stood up yesterday I felt a rush of pain so I began rubbing the area where the pain was and I could feel a lump or swelling in my pelvis. It did hurt when I pressed on it. The lump/swelling felt the size of a golf ball but its not round. I have heavy, painful periods and sometimes get very sick and weak during my periods. I have not had this checked since I dont have health insurance. Thank you.
