Q: Lump in my Hand

There's a hard lump on or between my third and fourth metacarpal in my hand. It a bit smaller than the size of a centimeter, maybe closer to 1/2 cm. It's a little achey, but not too bad. Does anyone know what it is? Is it something I need to be concerned about?

I had a friend with similar symptoms who was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It showed up when she was in her mid-late 20's. I suggest that you first see your family doctor and then a specialist in arthritis, if necessary. If I remember correctly, her lump was diagnosed via a needle sample of the fluid between her joints.
