lump in your eyelid.
Ok, so I have the same lump as most of you do.

I got a red lump in my eye about a year ago now, and it hurt at first. A day or two later, the redness went away and I was fine but I noticed the lump was still there.

I've looked into it and it's related to poor hygiene of the eye. So touching it and playing with it is the most likely cause of its increase in size.

I also saw from one girl that if you let it get bigger, the doctor will have to make a bigger incision to get rid of it.
Bigger incision = more numbing needles & more area that can be prone to infection.

The most common home remedy is to apply a hot compress 4 times a day for a few days to see if it reduces in size. But if you've left it as long as I have, the thought of needles in my eye was enough to scare me. I'll be on my way to the doctor tomorrow Sad

i have this ugly looking bump on my top right eye lid ! i seriously want it to go away asap cuz people do notice it and i feel vary uncomfortable with it . its so obviously seen and visble nomatter how i fix my hair or put my bangs down . .

however, i had it for weeks now and i have been searching on the internet about it and i took one advice to put a hot cloth over it and set for 5-10 mins but it only got more gross then ever . i do cry alot and wear make up. when i do cry i tend to rub my eyes having my make up smear everywhere. and my eye lashes fall out easily and end up in my eyes . could it be just dirt or stuff getting into my eye or my make up or even lame that its me crying to much that i rub my eyes with make up on my hands too???????

i do wash it with baby shampoo too just to keep it clean .
i dont wear make up since i had it cuz i forget to wash it off at night
and im freaking out cuz im starting to look disgusting .

Like I said, It's poor hygiene of the eye. But that statement was generalised so that could mean anything. My guess is it is make-up in my case. Can't explain it if a guy had it though.

But I went to the doctor to get it checked out and he told me it is a cyst and he's referred me to an eye specialist.
I asked the doctor what the eye specialist would do and he said depending on what it is, he could flip the eye lid over and scrap it out, or he could inject a local anaesthetic and make an incision in your eye.

But if you're really worried, go to the doctor. I've left mine for a year an i've been told its nothing serious..
And since it is making you self-conscious then there's nothing more I can suggest if the hot patch doesn't work.

Hope that helps.

I FOUND THE SOLOUTION!
For the people who have this, that random lump thing in your eyeball dont worry about it LOL its not cancer. It feels like a ball right? And it doesnt hurt even when youo touch or push it right? Its a cyst.
So you're good LOL
You can cure it by compressing a wet hot cloth on it 2-5 times a day. Or as much as you want LOL then itll go away slowly Smile
THAT OR SURGERY :B

Bump inside eyelid
People! Read this! Hope this help you. It is or might be a Chalazion. I too have a tiny pea bump inside my eyelid. Just one eye though. I've had it for months. It was pea sized, but got a tiny bit smaller, I noticed when I felt it again months later. But it is still there. So, I'm going to try the warm towel on my eye for a few weeks. To see if drainage helped some-what or made it disappear at least. You should try it too, if it bothers you that much or you just want to try and reduce the size/get rid of it.

Here is some info I got from emedicinehealth.com
A chalazion is a lump of the lid that is caused by obstruction of the drainage duct of an oil gland within the upper or lower eyelid. This lump may increase in size over days to weeks and may occasionally become red, warm, or painful.

The gland involved in the formation of a chalazion is a modified oil gland (meibomian gland) that lies within the eyelid. There are about 30-40 of these glands within each of the upper and lower lids. These glands secrete oil into the tears. When one of these glands becomes blocked, it can increase in size and cause a visible lump.

Although a sty is also a lump in the eyelid caused by obstruction of an oil gland, a chalazion is not a sty. A sty, or hordeolum, represents an acute infection of the gland. A chalazion is not an infection but is an inflammation of the area. Inflammation is a process in which the body reacts to a condition and produces swelling, redness, pain, or warmth. A sty is usually more painful than a chalazion and may appear infected.

Any input?
I've had this hard lump in my right eyelid (its long, not a circle, its also vertical in my eyelid)for about a year now. I don't wear a lot of makeup, only mascara. the past two days, I've woken up with the eyelid very swollen, and it goes down to almost normal within an hour or so. this swelling hasn't occurred before, I have been putting a warm wash rag on it since it has started to swell, and there is no effect. it has also been painful to the touch and when I blink. when I flip my eyelid, there is no abnormal coloration, but on the top of the eyelid it is a red color where the lump is. it is very noticeable, it looks like I've been socked in the face when my eye is open or closed.

Hi Ravenus: My husband had something like this last year...It came out of nowhere...We went to see our Dermatologist and she did do a biopsy on it to see if it was cancerous...My best advice is to see a Dermatologist as they will give you the best advice and treatment...Take care...
