Q: Lump in muscle of armpit

About two months ago, I discovered a hard lump in my armpit. It is clearly attached to the muscle - when I hold my arm straight up, it's bulging and hard. If I hold my arm out to my side, it becomes slightly "movable", just like a relaxed muscle.

The thing that makes me want to forget about it is the fact that when I flex my, erm, armpit muscles, the lump also becomes much harder, as if it's flexing as well.

But the fact that it's clearly visible whenever I raise my arm in the mirror, or so easy to feel whenever I take a shower...I just can't see a lump like that and forget about it.

But I don't have health insurance, so I've been trying to research stuff on my own. Nothing I've come across matches my symptoms - painless, clearly on the muscle, etc.

Any help/advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Extremely eHealthy
Do you find it painful?
Was the appearance of this lump preceded with something?

lump in armpit
i also had found a lump in my left armpit . started out at a pea sized lump and over the past couple of months has more than trippeld in size. it is now completely attached to my pectoral muscle and i ahve to go have it removed. dont wait . i had to wait for 3 months because i didnt have health insurance. if you dont feel comfortable with what one dr. says go get a second opinion. i did and it's saving my life right now . i also noticed that i've had drastic weight loss , ive lost 50 lbs in 4 months without trying to . we all have an intuition that tells us something isnt right .. trust it , its there for a reason. and research is good too ,but there doesnt seem to be alot about lumps in the armpit or axillary muscles. hopfully you got some help...REESE
