My left labia minora has been very painful since yesterday. This morning it is swollen and there is a lump in it. I have never experienced anything like this before, so I have no idea what it could be. I am 16 and have never had sex.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The best way to find the cause is to get yourself examined by your gynecologist/healthcare provider to look for the cause. There could be possibility of infection or Bartholin gland infection. Do not delay taking medical attention.
