Q: lump below left ear

i have a small hard lump below my left ear ive had it for a couple of months now, ive been to see my doctor at the beatson as i had thyroid cancer 11 years ago, i was sent for a head scan, neck scan and chest scan, im also going for a biopsy at the ENT next week, does anyone know what the head and chest scans are for

The head and chest scans are just to rule out that it is not some sort of metastasis or to rule out that any injury/disease process related to head/chest are causing the lump. With your history of thyroid cancer, I am sure that part of the reason they did scans of your head, neck and chest were to look at lymph nodes and other soft tissues.
