Q: Lump above right testicle
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 12th, 2009
My husband found a lump above his right testicle last night the size of a gumball. He noticed it a few days ago and it seems to have gotten bigger. He doesn't know how long it has been there. He has had a vasectomy over 7 yrs ago. What could this be? Please help

Testicular Cancer Answer A7237
I'm not sure if you are describing a mass within the scrotum, or a mass above the scrotum (i.e., in the groin). In any case, most such masses are benign, and can include hernias, hydroceles, and cysts, among other lesions. Testicular masses should always be further evaluated, however, to rule out the possibility of testicular cancer.
