I also am always really gassy. I also have a burning sensation on the upper part of my stomach. My brother has acid reflux, and colitis, so i feel like stomach issues are in the family. oh and like sometimes 2wice a week i dont have any bowel movements.

Extremely eHealthy
It sounds as you have a functional bowel disorder, known as irritable bowel syndrome in its constipation form.

Do you suffer from any shoulder pain or upper back pain? It feels like a muscle spasm gone crazy. I had something very similar to what you have now (I was much further along)and had my gall bladder removed. I was suffering from constipation, abdominal pain, right shoulder pain and acid reflux. After having the gall bladder removed my stomach pain after I ate became more severe. The gas I have is horrendous up and down and smelly. I think I had a problem breaking down and digesting my food properly causing my gall bladder to be over worked so it died. I wish I new then what I know now. Every time I ever had problems with constipation it was during a period of my life where my hormones were in fluctuation. For example; puberty, pregnant and perimenopause. I believe hormones somehow play a role in our digestion. That is why there are many more women than men that have gall bladder and digestion problems. The best thing you can do is have your hormone levels checked, put yourself on a diet that consists of no sugar, no white flour, low-no fat, low carbs (eat complex carbs), no caffeine, eat lots of raw and aldente cooked veggies, fresh fruit, protein like fish and chicken a little with every meal, drink lots of water. The diet will help balance your hormones and make it easier to digest food. You should also start taking calcium/magnesium, multi-vitamin, fish oil, vitamin D every day if your not already. Most important of all is to eat smaller meals and take digestive enzymes with every meal. The enzymes will help with the inflammation in your stomach or intestines, get rid of your gas and help you digest your food. When you have a lot of gas that is a sign of poor digestion and poor digestion can lead to being malnourished. If you go to a gastro doctor I can guarantee they will run lots of tests and tell you that you have gastritis or some kind of intestinal disorder or IBS and so on. They will prescribe ant-acids for your problem. This may help some but in the long run the ant-acids will make your condition worse. Try the enzymes, they took my pain and gas away. No doctor could do that for me. They still don't no why I am having problems. I use GNC digestive enzymes 3-4 with each meal. You may not need as much since you still have your gall bladder.
Good Luck

Acid reflux is caused by poor digestion. You can take digestive enzymes and not have to take acid reflux medication. Doctors won't tell you that acid medication is not good to take on a regular basis. I am trying to help you understand that I was where you are at one point. If I could do things differently I would. Your problem will only be temporarily fixed by taking acid reflux medication. Age and hormones imbalance plays a big part in digestion. As we get older digestion becomes more difficult. Your enzymes need to be replaced. Good Luck

First of all how old are you? To take enzymes you don't need a prescription. Changing your diet will help but it isn't the only thing you have to do. You can first change your diet and then add enzymes if that doesn't help enough. I can no longer have the things I love, like cookies, pizza, burgers etc. because no matter how many enzymes I take I can't digest the fat. It causes me pain, gas and sometimes even constipation. Your condition is moderate, try not to worry. Consider yourself lucky having constipation instead of diarrhea. The first thing you need to do is pay attention to what you eat and how much. Keep a journal. The diet I am on is more extreme then you will need but I'll give you the general idea.
You diet should mainly consist of good fat that means you need to stay away from cheese, fried foods, desserts, hamburgers and fatty meats, snacks with fat, dairy products like yogurt uless fat free. Fat is difficult for your body to digest. The fat you should take in is omega 3 in capsules and virgin olive oil for stir frying or salad dressing. You need to add fresh veggies to your diet at least two times a day. Eat raw carrots or celery and fat free ranch dressing with them as a snack. Salad for lunch with some grilled chicken and add some dried cranberries, slivered almonds, baby spinach and Ken's olive oil and vinegar (healthy options) salad dressing. When you eat carbs like bread you need to eat whole grain and you need to cut back. Try to eat bread only once a day. With this diet you decreased your carb intake and your fat intake. You will feel hungry all the time and want to snack if you don't eat protein with every meal.
For example: eggs, oatmeal with nuts, peanut butter on on toast or cereal with high protein for breakfast. For lunch: soups with beans or chicken, salad with chicken and or nuts, chicken or turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato on whole grain bread. For dinner: pasta if it is whole wheat, grilled salmon or grilled chicken with steamed aldente veggies or stir fried veggies. The other very important detail is that you have to cut back on sugar. Stay away from sodas. Drink at least 5 8oz. glasses of water a day. Your body could be dihidrated from to much salt and not enough fluids causing you constipation. If you find your digestion hasn't changed for the better after being on this diet for a few days then get back to me.

Look up the web site about enzymes. It will tell you that teenagers can benefit from them as well. Make sure you drink a lot of water and try your best to stay away from salt. I have a teenager and he doesn't have the best diet either. Your diet will change as you get older because your taste buds will change. Don't worry to much about it. I didn't mean to alarm you. Before you try to change your diet keep a journal on what you eat and drink throughout each day. Maybe it is a certain food that doesn't agree with you that is causing the problem. When you are constipated drinking apple juice or prune juice is a natural laxative. I hope you discuss this problem with a close relative, if you can't I'll help you best I can. Tell me what you eat most of the time and I might be able to help you better.
