I have been diagnosed with L5 radiculopathy. In other words damaged nerves. They say it is mild. However the pain is very bad. I have burning sensation in the buttocks, pain down the right leg and into my heel to big toe. I sometimes feel pins in needles in my butt, legs, and or feet. At one time while I was sitting in a chair I went to stand up and I fell because I could not feel my feet. This went away of course after about 30 min. I have had MRI, X-RAYS, and on pain meds. They recently put me on depression meds because I am getting to the point where I am pissing everyone off. Especially my family. If you haven't guessed by now this is workers comp. They are doing nothing. They sent me back to work full duty. The Dr. ordered steroid injections but they refused. The accident started 8-07-2008 and I am in severe pain. What can I do to get help? I have attorneys but I just want the pain to go away. Please help!

I would suggest that you take your test results, i.e. MRI, xrays and get another opinion for another spine specialist.

If you haven't been seeing a spine specialist then you need to do so as soon as possible.

Radiculopathy does not always mean damaged nerves. It can also be compression of nerve or nerve roots that is causing the pain.

If you have an attorney and the attorney is not working for you and helping you to get WC to pay for the treatment that the doctor has said you need, then you need a new WC attorney as well.

Are you sure your attorney is a WC specialized attorney?

You need to fight WC which can be a very tiresome process, but if you do not give in to their treatment of you, or better stated lack of treatment, you will not get the help that you need.

Good luck
