Q: Lower back pain diagnostics
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 11th, 2009
I have been having a dull to sharp pain in my lower back, right side for a couple of days. I can't sleep on my right side. It is uncomfortable in all positions. I feel nautious sometimes after eating. I have taken ibuprofen but it doesn't touch the pain. What should I do?

Your question involves the dull to sharp pain you are experiencing in your lower back.

There are many things that can contribute to lower back pain as you have described, particularly muscle imbalances, and spasms.

However, since you mentioned feeling "nautius after eating", I need to know more.

Does feeling nautious correlate with making your back pain worse shortly after eating?
Where EXACTLY is your pain? Under your last rib near your spine? or lower/higher?
