You need to see a spine specialist, either an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon that specializes in spines.

An ER doctor is not qualified to diagnose your spine problems in detail and just because you have had the pain for 2 years does not necessarily mean that you have nerve damage.

Telling you that it will take 3 years to heal nerve pain because you have had it for 2 years is absurd.
That just proves the point that the ER doctor is not qualified to diagnose you. He/she has no idea what he/she is talking about.

Once you have seen a spine specialist, you will no doubt need an MRI done to help with the diagnosis. Be sure to bring the CT with you to your appointment.

Once diagnosed, then a treatment plan can be formulated to help ease your pain and get you back to functioning again.

Get that appointment as soon as you possibly can.

Good luck
