Q: Lower Back pain and hip pain

Hi Everyone, I have lower back pain and hip pain. Its an achey sharp pain and electrical shocks up and down my back. I also have uriary retentionMy dx is herniated disc impinging on my nerve roots and also a blockage in l5 and s1 nerve root. I have seen a two neurosurgeons the wont touch my spine. Where do I go next? The pain is severe . even though I am on soma and lortabs.

Hello Kimber,

"I also have uriary retention" - I am not a doctor, however I have read enough to know that that is an emergency situation. You MUST seek emergency medical care immediately or you most certainly risk permanant nerve damage.

I can't believe what your neurosurgeons have told you. Find the best spinal surgeon you can tomorrow. Talk with the doctor directly if at all possible. If no response, then PLEASE go to the ER for immediate care.
