Lower abdomen pain postpartum

User Profile
I am 2 months post-partum; during the 3week of postpartum to current i've being experiencing pain which feels like strains in my lower abdomen. Most time when my feet are horizontally aligned to the bed and my upper body vertical, with any little movement i feel that pain. Is this normal, and if so what's the reason for such pain?

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

There are a few possibilities you should look into for pain in abdomen after delivery: urinary bladder infection or cystitis, pyelonephriits (kidney infection), pelvic abscess, appendicitis, ovarian cyst, peritonitis, or infection of the uterus (metritis). All are emergency situations and you must seek medical help ASAP.

Having said that I would also say it could simply be gas or acidity or irritable bowel. However you cannot ignore the symptoms.

Please consult your gynecologist once. Hope this helps. Take care!
