I had sex with my boyfriend for the first time (12/23) 4-5 days after my period ended (around 12/20)- so almost two week since bleeding(started bleeding around 12/13 or 14). I didnt bleed upon losing my virginity. Two days later we had sex again, and again four days later. All three times we used protection. However the first time he came inside with a condom on, and the other times he pulled out before coming. Few days later I began having brown discharge (around 1/1). Today is (1/4) and Im still having discharges. My lower abdomen feels upset and firm frequently. I am almost a daily coffee drinker and get average of 3-5 hrs sleep per night. What could this mean?
Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!
Bleeding after sex is often due to rough sex, injury, and due to infection. The various causes for vaginal bleeding after sex are injury and friction, STDs like Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis, cervical polyps, yeast infections, non specific vaginitis, endometriosis, cervical dysplasia which is a precancerous condition, uterine polyps, uterine fibroids and cervicitis. None of them are conditions that should be ignored.
Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once and get the required tests like internal examination, PAP smear, vaginal swab test for STD, and ultrasound. Hope this helps. Take care!
