Q: low level of hcg

Hello everyone. I am approximately 5 to 6 weeks pregnant with our second child. I had experienced bleeding with passing small clots about 1 week ago. No more bleeding or cramping. I am really anxious because my hcg levels are not doubling. My level started out at 21, 32 and now 42. I know everyone has a different pregnancy but I am scared. My doctor tells me everything looks good but I can't help but be concerned for my baby and myself. Has anyone out there ever experienced this or anything similar? Please reply. I had my blood drawn again today but no results until Monday. Rolling Eyes

Please let us know the results of the test --- conjecture is always less accurate than diagnostics!

Atleast it is still going up, that's the important thing.
If it remains low and you continue to have any pain or cramping i would be concerned for an ectopic. Did you have an ultrasound yet??

I have had the same thing as you.. just i was not passing clots, just spotting. Well my doctor told me that everything can turn out perfectly fine and you could have a heathly baby.

Unfortuantly for me that was not the case. They kept a really good eye on my levels because even though they were going up a fair amount they were not doubling. I ended up going for an ultrasound and they found the baby's heart beat when i was suppose to be 8 weeks, but the baby was only measuring 6 and the HCG levels were low.. not bad but low... about 3 weeks later i ended up losing the baby...

I am sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but I figure you would rather hear something that happened than a lie.. I wsa constantly told that as soon as they hear the heartbeat of the baby, there is a very small chance that you would loss it.. i wish i could have know that was not true.

I would listen to your doctor and try not to stress out to much about it and worry. I know that is a very hard thing to do. I have been there, but it is not good for the baby if you are stressing. Rest as much as you can and do anything the doctor tells you to do. All the luck to you. you are in my thoughts. I know what it is like to be in your position. . If you need to talk about anything pm me. I will listen and talk to you.

Sorry if i am repeating myself... Let me know how things go! My thoughts are with you!
