I have had pain in my low left side abdomen for about 3 years. It would come and go like I may have pain for several months and then it would go away for several months. It sometimes will get a mild stabbing pain from the area in my abdomen down the inside of my leg. Been to several doctors and finally they thought I may have colitis or diverticulitis so they done a colonoscopy yesterday. He said everything looked great. It is also tender to push in that area. Now it has a constant ache. It doesn't hurt as bad if I stand or walk but setting it hurts the most. Last winter I had a spell where it got so bad I had to go to the hospital because the pain was so bad. This happened after a snowmobile accadent. I was hitvery hard on my butt and popped my back and couldn't breath. I was ok for a day or so after that happened but then it when I woke one morning with the horrible pain. Like I said I have had this pain on and off for several years but it never got bad like it did after the snowmobile crash. Now it's mild agin and won't go away. Anybody have ANY idea what is wrong with me??

Abdominal pains are just so general...that is crazy that the pains get that severe it has to be something...I would do an endoscopy and blood tests or just consult more physicians about what it could possibly be. It could certainly be related to your accident as well?

lower left abdominal pain
I have had lower left abdominal pain for four months now. I get very crampy and have problems with my stools. I also can not sleep on my left side. My left side hurts when I lay on it and my left leg goes numb with a tingling burning feeling. I have had a CT scan and a colonoscopy and everything looks good. I'm going to just give up because I can't afford another hospital bill. Any ideas what I should do next?

I hear ya about the hospital bills. I has a MRI, CT scan, and a colonoscopy done. So far the totals are in the 5000 dollar range. All we can do is just make payments to them. As for your pain to me it sounds like a disc in your back. That can make it hard to go poo because of the nerves that are connected to the colon. It also will make your leg go numb and will cause pain on one side more than the other. If you don't want an MRI then I would go to a chiropractor and see if he can help your back.
