I was told by my doctor that my cholesterol level was 81. My tryglisorides level was normal. Should I be concerned? I am trying to get pregnant and I have read that low cholesterol levels lead to premature birth and birth defects. Any information would be great.

Low cholesterol has been linked to premature birth. Do you know if 81 was the total cholesterol (HDL LDL) or just the bad choloesterol/ LDL? Optimal LDL is less than one hundred.
