I am very concerned about my partner of 4 years, he is a 27 year old male and I have always had concerns that he's not totally balanced but have never brought the subject up with him, the longer we are together the worse he seems to get.
He will go through weeks of being fine but then something will set him and he'll completely turn on me, will rant for hours, sulk, yell at me, throw insult after insult at me, threaten to leave me over and over again, tells me i'm ruining his life and if only he could find that perfect girl his life would be complete.
After this he may sulk and give me the silent treatment for days/weeks/months even and I will have to walk on eggshells at all times and then suddenly he will snap out of it and be back to normal again but will not discuss what may have happened previously, he even seems to forget about it. Like he was possessed and something took his over.
He does do recreational drugs at times also which always leads to days of bad behaviour.
His other symptoms include over analaysing life and situations, paranoia, neurosis and over defensiveness.
Can anyone help with this?

I recommend that he go see a doctor as soon as possible. If he is not willing to go see a doctor then there is not much you can do, and you have to start to think to yourself if this is healthy for you. You must always take care of yourself first, because then you cannot take care of your loved ones. Remind him that seeing a doctor is not a bad thing, and offer to go with him as well.

Your not alone.. Once ive been inside your shoes, Actually you are asking for help but you dont know you actually help me to see things clearly that my boyfriend is possitive for bipolar.. Reading your experienced made me feel im not alone. I know how hard it is to love someone with this disorder but if your willing to live with him forever and your love for him is unconditional that you cant live without him despite of what hes going through.. Help him because he needs you more than anyone.. But you should take the consequence.. That's what love is..
