Hello,
I am wondering if anyone can provide any input on sudden loss of sex drive in men. I am 29 years old and in great shape. I exercise 5-6 times a week and I'm in a healthy weight range for my age, and eat a good diet. No other medical issues that I know of.

One day I woke up and just suddenly had no sex drive whatsoever. I have not had an erection for about 8 days now and I no longer have any sexual thoughts or feelings. It's a bit of a frightening feeling to be honest and I have always had a healthy sex drive. Now I can't even masturbate. I have tried several times and can't even get the slightest hint of an erection going.

I have had no major life changes recently, no stress, or anything like that.

If anyone has any input on this type of issue and what could be wrong...would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

If this happened suddenly, if there are no other contributing health effects, no drug abuse and no injury, my assumption would be that you're just not getting the chemical signal in your brain to trigger sexual response. Short periods of sexual malfunction aren't abnormal for adult males now and again. If a week goes by and you're still having no drive something has obviously changed. I wouldn't hesitate to see a doctor at that point. While you're waiting on your appointment I'd suggest looking through any medications you're taking to see if they have sexual side effects and logging your sleep appetite to see there are other parts of your natural rhythm that are off. Also make a note to any reaction you have to a situation that seems out of character for you.

It would be interesting to know what sort of foods you are eating lately if you are eating foods with higher levels of copper & not consuming enough foods with zinc in them you can experience this, it is normal & healthy to wake of a morning with an errection, i use this as a symptom if i don't experience errections at least a few times a week, i simply consume more zinc foods or have suppliments. Before you do it would be wise to research how nutrients influence our state of health as there are things that need to be kept in mind with nutrient balancing. the best place to go is ithyroid.com it will help you to understand how important balance is when using nutrition to restore health. if i can be of further help please, all, feel welcome to reply

what foods have zinc in them?

Since you mention ithyroid.com, I am curious if thyroid issues may be hereditary...my mother recently had to have her thyroid removed.

the reason for using ithyroid.com was to help us to learn how minerals & nutrients intercombine to allow our systems to function. I believe these things are what can be affecting illnesses through blood lines, as what our parents eat we eat (retrospectly) so if there is a deficiency or excess in one there could well be also in another of that family. do you have any symptoms that concern you? I am able to control my thyroid state from hypothyroid to hyperthyroid or balance simply by using nutrients to balance this function & it can be used for other illnesses, this is a direct link to the state of helth relative to thyroid function. also the acidic state or lack there of(being alkaline)is a direct relating to our state of illness, a balanced alkalinity throughout our bodies is the true indicator of good health.
When persueing a zinc diet you also need to include copper within balance, ithyroid.com will help you learn this, foods with zinc - brazil nuts(just a few), avacado, muscle meats, eggs, nuts & brewers yeast just to name a few. Go to anyvitamin.com here you can learn what foods have what nutrients & what role these nutrients play in the function of our bodies!

Please update us on your situation.Did you get your erections and sex drive back? If so did you identify your problem? I am starting to think that environmental toxins are at play in some of these cases like this.

Hey jk9418
Thyroid disorders can be hereditary and the have considerable impact on sex drive, moreso on women and with very severe endocrine-system impacts. Have you been experiencing issues with fatigue, body temperature or complexion lately?

Men often show resistance talking about this issue with a physician or even their closest friends. This keeps them from having a normal married life or getting in a regular physical relationship with women. This however is not such a big disease that can’t be cured, so it’s always better to look around for help and any possible treatments available.Testosterone therapy is among the many treatments available in the market to fix sexual disorders among men, and it has also shown some wonderful results.
