As i heard that lacking of sexual desire is very common in women. I am bit worried as some of my friends said that it is normal among women but some said that i should consult with doctor as it is disorder. Is this because of age, i don't know very much about lack of desire or loss of libido. I am losing my interest in sex and i don't want my husband to feel that because it will affect our relationship. Just want to know more about the same.

You may want to talk to your gyn about this. Loss of libido can be due to hormone levels. The doctor can check this for you and treat any abnormal hormone levels. There are other ways to help with low libido. Talk to your doctor about this.

I can relate.

I'm not sure if it's that my husband and I are too familiar, but I've lost the "racing heart" feeling I sued to have when I see him. Now, it's like he's my best friend. I want to feel sexually attracted and aroused by him and tend to feel that it's my fault if I'm not.

What kinds of hormone tests can we request?

And does anyone have experience with aphrodisiacs? Like yohimbe bark or women's libido supplements?

Lack of Sexual desire
Hi,

First thing is its not like lack of sexual desire is common in women. It can happen to anybody.

There are lot of causes for this problem. Due to tension, if you are stressed out, not satisfied with professional life etc. then it may happen that you will loose interest in sex but it doesn't mean that it is a disorder which can not be cured. Its just because sometimes your body gets tired a lot and then u don't wish to.

But yes whatever you mentioned is correct that such things may act as a barrier in a relationship and may spoil it too. So its better that you discuss it with your husband first, if he is understanding then he will support you.
Consult it with the doctor also so that he will guide you properly and you will also have that feeling of being guided by an appropriate man because such small things also do effect a lot.

After all it is a mind game at the end of the day.

Good Luck!!! Very Happy

hello illustriously fickle,

Its common problem and many people lost the desire and tempt, they want to feel but failed to.

Hormones test to know about this loss of libido are like-: Anti ageing blood test in which low level of DHEA will cause lack of sex drive, some general screening test, testosterone test, estradiol, FBC, U&E for renal disease, TFT's, FSH, LH, prolactin. May you are not well known from these terms, so consult doctor or gyn for better results.

It is also because of any mental illness, depression, overwork, tiredness.

firstly you just make your day relax and no stress, no overwork. Give proper time to your personal life also. If you feel change then don't go for any medication.

About libido enhancer, better try out some herbal products rather synthetic. If you are inetersted in knowing about them, i can provide that information also.

2fatto,

Its really so understanding from your part that you avoid taking synthetic drugs or medication as it is really harmful and also has side effects. Also, important to keep yourself free from stress.

Herbal medicines may work for you as they have no side effects and also they are very much effective. Natural and herbal are the things you can trust with closed eyes also. They are safe and easily available also.

Asparagus adscendens is the main herb helps in arousing sexual desires. It tends to increase the testosterone levels in women which in turns boost libido and energy. Other ingredients like Sida Cordifolia, Hibiscus abelmoschus and Anacyclus pyrethrum increases the vitality and efficiency.

So going on herbal medication, select the best herbal pills which have all these herbs as ingredients and before taking just read about that. also you can ask some one who alredy undergone that medication.

For further information, if you can't find youself i will surely help you on that also.

What is an Aphrodisiac?
1. Chocolate : What is an Aphrodisiac? Chocolate is! the romantics identify chocolate as an aphrodisiac, and the reputed aphrodisiac qualities of chocolate are frequently associated with the simple sensual pleasure of consuming it. However, there are chemicals found in chocolate such as phenethylamine that can act as mild sexual stimulants.

2. Oysters are often used as aphrodisiacs and according to a research team they are rich in rare aminoacids that trigger increased levels of sex hormones.

3. Potatoes: in the past potatoes started to get reputation to be a powerful aphrodisiac, while herbalists insisted in the fact that potatoes could cure everything from diarrhea to tuberculosis and people in Shakespeare's time viewed the potatoes as part of the list of aphrodisiacs and then labeled them "Apples of Love" and inclusive fruits.

4. Rhinoceros Horn: a few tribes in the north of India are practically the only people who started using rhinoceros horns as part of the list of aphrodisiacs, as it is said to make men sexually unstoppable.

5. Plants and fruits: some plants and fruits have the correct convination of components to be a perfect aphrodisiac.

Medical science has not verified claims that any particular food from the list of aphrodisiacs increases sexual desire or performance. After know what is an aphrodisiac you should know that there is an aphrodisiac drug called Bremelanotide that seems to be the first real aphrodisiac, acording to medical investigations. The effects of this new aphrodisiac drug has proven to stimulate sexual desire in men and women, and clinical trials are currently doing tests for this new aphrodisiac drug to be used for the treatment of sexual arousal disorder and erectile dysfunction as well.

My doctor said it is better to just take this great aphrodisiac drug called Bremelanotide in order for both men and women to improve their sexual experiences and performance, so you can just do the same and have piece of mind about it. As I previously said, some people did not know what is an aphrodisiac and know they do, which is great, and after being able to find out what is an aphrodisiac now you can start using this information for your sexual life!

I suffer a little with this and what helped enormously was actually deciding with my husband not to have sex for a while (to take the pressure off). But what we did do was everything else.

Ensure you spend time with your husband, maybe go out for a romantic dinner, have a glass of wine or two. I find I need to relax rather than feeling pressured and A LITTLE alcohol goes a long way!! I love massage, so we do that, more often that not it goes further and leads to sex now.

Maybe invest in some massage oils and maybe a massage technique book (or better still, a course) and try it out.

I think before I was so stressed out by it, that there was no way I could get in the mood. Now, I feel better knowing my husband doesn't expect it to always end in sex and we enjoy ourselves in a variety of ways Smile

Good luck.
