About a year ago, I began taking Yaz birth control pill. As soon as I started taking it, I noticed that I had to pee much more often. I used to pee about 3 or 4 times a day, after starting the pills, I had to pee about 7 or 8 times/day. Also, when I got the urge to pee, I had to get to a restroom with about 4 minutes or I would have an accident.

It was so terrible that I stopped taking the pills about 6 months ago. Only recently has my bladder gone back to what it was like pre-birth control days.

Has anybody else experienced this? From what I've seen on the web, loss of bladder control doesn't seem to be among the most frequent birth control side effects.

'"Pills" containing drospirenone ( an ingredient in Yaz) are said to be potentially beneficial for women who exhibit the hydric retention and swelling typical of many cases of premenstrual syndrome.' So basically it acts as a diuretic and makes you pee a lot. You're not the only one; I found four other posts complaining about the frequent urination woemn experienced while on Yaz.
