Q: Lose weight motivation

Hi, I'm an 18 year old female. I weigh 182 pounds. According to my doctor I should weigh between 130-140 pounds. I want to lose weight. I've tried everything. Crash diets, pills, exercise. Nothing is working. I'm not healthy nor happy the way I am. How can I get the motivation to do this? And how can I lose weight. I need to lose about 40 pounds. I'm in no rush. But I don't want it to take forever. I've got about three months. I really want to do this.

Someone please help me?

i was overweight at one point in my life as well. crash diets were the worst for me because i would gain all the weight back in half the time it took me to loose it. i lost 30 pounds in about 2 1/2 months by 1.) cutting out the soda. i drank water and TONS OF IT. seriously. the only thing i drank besides water was OCCASIONALLY a diet coke or glass of tea but i still drank upwards of 10 glasses a day. which, they say, drinking alot of water will make you feel fuller. 2.) i snacked all day. fruits, veggies, pickles, jello. that way when i did cheat (which was more often than id like to admit) i didnt eat as much because i was fuller than i would of been without that apple or pear. 3.) i tried to eat healthier. when i went to taco bell, i would order bean burritos minus the cheese instead of the taco salad and chalupa. if i went to dinner, i would order soup and salad or grilled chicken. i also didnt deny the occasional hamburger craving but when i gave in i would substitute the fries for a more healthy option. 4.) i walked. i put on my headphones with a cd i had made for upbeat music and walk around the block a few times. i have never had the will power to get my ass to the gym! but i walked pretty much every other day and after a while it was every single day. get into a habit of it and before you know it, youll be walking in the morning and then finding yourself waiting 30 minutes at night in front of the tv waiting for a show to come on and throwing on your tennis shoes and walking around the block a couple of times. (bring pepper spray...there are crazy people in this world honey!) 5.) i "THOUGHT" thin. i started to wear more form fitting clothing and spending extra time on my hair and makeup and mentally saying to myself 'i am thin. i am pretty.' as corny and cheesy as it sounds, it works. you start to spend more time on yourself and focus in on the good qualities about yourself and you find yourself looking better and feeling better. try and replace those feelings of 'who cares?' and loathing your body with ones that boost your morale. sorry it was so long! i just didnt want to leave anything out because ive been there and NOTHING seemed to work for me either. let me know how it goes! also, DONT HAVE A SCALE AT HOME!!! i learned really quick that your weight fluctuates daily. go somewhere once a week, say every sunday. go in the morning, before your breakfast. every week that you loose weight and every article of clothing that you put on that was just a little bit looser than it was the week before is your reward. not cake! or brownies! or big macs! good luck honey!

If you want to lose weight try to change your eating habits. Eat more healthy food ( vegetables, fruits) and try to do exercise: aerobik or jogging. And be patient- you can't lose your weight in a minute:).
Well good luck.
