loosing the ability to have children?

User Profile
Hi, Do you know the chances of loosing the ability to have children if you have an abortion?
And would deep I V sedation "knock you out" during the procedure? Or would you need to use general anaesthesia for that?
Thanks-

I'm not sure what the actual chances are but I don't think they are very high but they are still there. I am assuming the "deep iv sedation" is what I had when I had my abortion yesterday and it pretty much knocked me out. I was aware of what was going on...I could feel it but it didn't hurt at all and I was fighting to keep my eyes open.

I had the deep sedation for my abortion six months ago - I had no idea what was going on, it was like I slept through it. One minute I was talking to the doctor while I was laying on the table, the next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery room. I felt fine afterwards Smile
I don't know about the fertility issue, I myself posted a question on here because I have not had a period since the procedure six months ago - so if anyone has an answer to that I'd be keen to hear it too.
