Hi everyone. I got me bottom braces on October 1. Today, I was eating and a bracket on a tooth got loose. It moves up and down. It is still attached to the wire. My next ortho appointment is on the 25. Should I wait 'till then?

Nope. I have braces for 2.5 years and remember that when a bracket got loose, the doctor called me in to repair it ASAP. I suggest that you call and make an appointment to move your visit forward.

My mom never called. My visit is tomorrow. How are thay going to glue it back? do they have to chang the wire? My tooth is ttoo inside and right ow the bracket does not reach the tooth because of the wire. I really don't want thave the wire changed this early. ir has only been a month. i had my wire changed on the top just after a month and it HURT.

I think that they will have to re-glue the bracket, which may take 15-20 minutes. I forget, because I had braces over 20 years ago. But maybe the new wire was waht caused the bracket to come loose in the first place, so I bet they'll need to remove it to physically secure the bracket...and then put in a new wire. Ask about it.

I had one fall of the other day.

They just remove the wire on the bottom, clean it up, then sandblast the bracket that fell off, clean your tooth, glue the bracket back on and then just put the wire back on.

They don't change the wire, its the same one unless your due for tightening.
