Long time pill user period getting lighter Posted: 06-16-08 20:20pm
Hi I have been taking bc pill for over 14
yrs and my periods have been getting
lighter and lighter down to 1 day brownish
discharge. This freaked me out an did a
preg test, neg. Over the last couple of
months its been the same or even lighter
than that until this month all i got was
some discharge with very very slight pink
colour than nothing until last day of
sugar pills extremely slight brown. It was
as though i had no period. i haven't
missed any pills so i don't think im
pregnant. Is this normal and has this
happened yo anyone else?

Yes it is normal, and many women LIKE the
side effect.
Over time BC pills decrease the period
blood flow, or even cause it to become
absent altogether.
It is normal, and it is not dangerous, but
some women may not like it because they
use their period as a 'pregnancy warning'.

Thankyou for your quick response. this has
put my ind at ease. I do like the side
effects now i no it is normal.
