Q: Long term prognosis for blocked IVC

I have a large blood clot in my IVC which was discovered in January and treated with blood thinners and a filter. This clot was caused by stage 4 diffuse B-Cell lymphoma. I have been successfully treated (using the R-CHOP protocol) for the lymphoma, but now the closure of my IVC is so complete that it was not possible for my intervention radiology surgeons to re-open it and insert stents. Apparently my body has re-routed the blood through other vessels, since my IVC is no longer functioning in its normal capacity.
I am looking for any information that would help me understand the long term prognosis for a 53-year old man without any other significant health issues and any other lifestyle changes that I should make. (For example, I suspect I should avoid roller coasters or other physical activities that place a lot of stress on my body.)
Thank you,
-mw-
