Q: Long periods of bleeding after abortion

I had an obortion on 5th nov and am still bleeding. next week is my marrige and is there any way i can stop the bleeding?

5th of November? It's the 4th. Did you have it today (and you are in a part of the world where it is a day later) or did you have it a year ago? Or do you mean the 5th of October? I'm confused.

It's normal to be bleeding for up to three weeks, but not for a month or a year. Did they give you any information when you had it done? A care sheet or pamphlet? If not, call the doctor or clinic and ask for information about how long you can expect to bleed. If it's been too long, you probably need to go in and get checked out.

Also, please make sure you are using protection now because it is not uncommon for women to get pregnant again right away, especially because their cycles may be irregular. Not only can this be undesirable, but it can actually be dangerous medically to get pregnant again that soon.
