Long Lasting Period on Implanon Posted: 05-02-08 11:41am
Ok i'll start from the top. Me and my gf
started having sex so she got on the pill
birth control. It was going fine but she
didn't want to take the pills anymore so
she switch to implanon. Now the day she
switched she still took her normal birth
control and also got the implanon, and we
had sex, still within the time period of
the pills. So are we still safe from
getting pregnant? But now she is on her
period, it started as spotting for half a
week and then a heavy period started and
it hasn't stopped now and its been almost
2 and a half weeks. We are not sure on
what is going on? Any help, i'm always
worrying she is pregnant.

If she's on her period she's probably not
pregnant. Also, im on implanon, and i got
it in march and got my period 2 weeks
after getting it, and ive had a medium
period the whole time, it hasnt stoped! I
hope she has better luck than i have with
it, they say to wait 3 months than if it
doesnt get better you have the option of
getting it out, which is what im going to
do.

HERE is what is going on.
IMPLANON CAUSES IRREGULAR BLEEDING,
EVERYDAY BLEEDING, OR BLEEDING EVERY 2
WEEKS.
This is NORMAL AND TO BE EXPECTED with
Implanon use.
Implanon is NOT Like other BC methods, it
does not regulate the periods.
