First of all, i'd like to say hi to anyone that reads this and everyone here in general. I am new Smile rainbow

I will say that what i am going to post maybe a little gross for some people, so if you get grossed out easily, please don't read!

Anyway,

I've been taking Loestrin 24 for just about 2 years now. I've never really had any problems with it until this month. I had my normal 3-4 day period about 2 weeks ago. 3 Days after my period i suddenly started getting that brown stuff that you usually get after or when your period is ending. I didn't really think much about it that is, until i had it for about 4 days. It was kind of like a roller coaster, it would be a little and then a lot, so i started worry.

My medicaid usually pays for my birth control until last friday when i went to get my new pack they wouldn't give it to me because it no longer covers Loestrin. So, i have been off the Loestrin for about 5 days and have started to bleed very heavily and with a lot of pain. I'm really starting to get scared because i have already had my period and i don't understand why it seems like i have it again. My guess is that maybe since i haven't been able to take my pill my body reacted this way? but i'm just not sure.

I'm really confused as well because of the brown stuff and then out of nowhere i get the heavy bleeding with a lot of pain.

Of course, i booked an appointment with my gynecologist, but since he had seen me at the beginning on the month, he only has an appointment a few days before my every month visit ... even though i told him that it is urgent that i see him.

The reason that i wrote this is because i am wondering if anyone here has maybe had the same body reaction to Loestrin (or any other birth control) as i have? or if this maybe something big to worry about?

Also, since i won't be able to use Loestrin 24 if anyone knows any other good pill that i can replace it with?

The brown stuff was breakthrough bleeding. Either you have something else upsetting your hormone balance (could be as simple as stress) or you just need to switch pills-- It's not serious, but very annoying. Sometimes there's not even a good reason for it.

How heavy is this bleeding? It seems normal to experience some bleeding, but if you're bleeding is heavy then you may want to schedule an appointment with another doctor instead if you can get in sooner.

Your doctor will be able to help you with what pill to take now. Not all birth control pills are the same, and your doctor will be able to help pick a hormone level that's good for you.
