I've been taking Loestrin Fe since August, but occasionally I miss a period. I started taking the brown pills on Sunday (It is now Tuesday) and I haven't started my period. My boyfriend and I do have sex, but are very very safe. I've seen on this forum that not having a period on Loestrin is very common, but still it worries me. Is there a chance I could be pregnant? Also, I started taking birth control hoping it would help regulate my period because I had alot of spotting before. If I switched to something else, would I encounter the same thing? Thank you.

First and foremost, skipping a period is not necessarily uncommon when a woman takes any type of birth control. And actually, Loestrin Fe boasts a "3 day or LESS" period, so it does not surprisingly that you miss them occasionally. Stress commonly is a factor to missing periods (ain't that screwy- since you stress over missed periods and that can actually aid the problem!?). If you're worried about being pregnant, take a test. Wait a couple days and take an early test. And I know...waiting is not something you want to do when you are really nervous, but honestly...is anything going to change in the next couple of days?

About the acne...the FDA has approved Loestrin Fe to treat acne. However, if it's not working for you, talk to the doc next time you're in. There are hundreds of different types of birth control because women react differently to them. So, talk to your doc about treating the acne and making the period a little more regular/less mysterious.

Good luck!

I have had this same problem for months without a period and after taking several pregnacy tests I figured it was stress after starting a 2nd job. When I went to my doctor for my "yearly" and mentioned it to her she said that missing periods is normal and that's what the pills are suppost to do. I would still blame a little on stress but it did put my mind at ease.
If you are still worried it doesn't hurt to take a pregancy test just to be sure. You can even go to Dollar General and get the ones for $1. I was told by a friend that those are the same ones the doctors use.
