I recently started on this birth control, Loestrin 24. It's new type of birth control for me. Back in Oct. 08, I was on a BC pill, and I got pregnant. I had a miscarriage on Dec. of 08. I had an D&C done. I am now with my boyfriend which is a great relationship. He is older than me. But we love and care for each other so much. We've been together for 7 and half months now. We have had unprotected sex a lot of times. He doesn't like condoms at all. Which I am okay with that..because I am not either. He is not ready for another baby just yet. Which is best for both of us. He does have a 5 year old daughter which I love dearly as she was my own. I do want a baby someday. But he's got that Bipolar disorder and is taking medication for it. He did tell me that if I happen to get pregnant, that they could be bad defects. Which yes, I understand that completely. I would want a healthy baby. So, to protect me from getting pregnant again, I got on Loestrin 24 on April 23rd last month. My doctor told me that I could take it around the 4th day of my cycle. Which that was April 29th. So I took it that morning. I seem to have taken the pill at other times than I have should. Around May 2 I had unprotected sex which I wasn't fully done with my menstrual cycle just yet. That night I was on my 7th day of my cycle, which was at the end of my period. Then on May 5th I had unprotected sex again. After that night, it was occurring to me that did I even take this pill right? I started the pill on the Sunday which was the day I was on my 4th cycle. I then wondered two that did I give it enough time to get into my system? Which I counted in total I only taken that pill for only 4 days when I had sex. Then I began researching online about this..I have heard it would be effective with a week and if taken correctly. But I'm not sure if I have done that. So, I need to know you all of you if you are on Loestrin 24 if I have taken it right and gave it enough time to work.
