I just barely started taking Loestrin, and I'm wondering if it would be okay to bump up the "brown pill days" so I have my period on the 22nd-25th days of the cycle, instead of the 25th-28th days. I would then finish off the month with the remainder of the white pills from that month's packet. I would do it just for one month to move up my cycle a little - I basically just want to schedule my period a couple days earlier than it would currently fall the way I'm taking the pills. It's just a weekend that I'd rather not be menstruating... The next month would be normal, and the cycle would have shifted. Bad idea?
Germane, if you are not having sex, you can do anything. If you are having sex, you should not cut the pack short. You can just skip the brown pills this cycle. When you get to day 25, start the next pack and throw away the inactive brown pills. This way you should only bleed when you get to the brown pills of the next pack.
Nothing is however guaranteed when you start birth control pills. No matter what you do, breakthrough bleeding and spotting is fairly common during the first few cycles.
You might also be pleasantly surprised about your period when taking Loestrin. It makes periods much lighter and shorter, and take away most of the PMS.
