Q: locking knees after urination

My daughter is 21 months old and has recently begun to lock her knees when walking(like taking 'baby' steps) after she pees in her diaper. I've searched online and checked for symptoms of a UTI but she has none. Does this just mean that she's finally beginning to feel that wet, warm sensation and not like it? A sign of potty training readiness perhaps?

hello
My grandaughter done this as well as put her hand over her diamper. Yes she was ready for potty training. It took 2 week's to train her, cause she was ready. Your baby may be ready for this as well. introduce her to a potty chair and reward her everytime she goes.Good luck!!

That sounds like it! The wet feeling often makes kids uncomfortable, and it looks like she is beginning to notice. My children don't usually do it for wet diapers, but you should see the funny ways they walk with messy diapers.

potty training
she still has some trouble when it comes to messing. She will hide usually, but thats getting better. I thought getting her off the bottle was trying on patience, potty training is worse.

I have heard some mothers say that potty training is the worst part of being a parent. You are not alone. Sometimes it is up to the child to do it when they want, no matter how much you plead. Hang in there Smile

Yes you can't force them until they are ready or it won't work. I'm getting remarried this weekend and my grandaughter is going. The trip is 3 hour's, I thought about putting her in pull up's on the way there and then during the service. Do you think this will confuse her with her potty training?

First of all, my congratulations on your coming marriage Smile

It might confuse her a little yes, but I don't know how old she is. Even at the age of three, kids can understand a lot of things when they are explained. So, if this is something you want to do because you are afraid of accidents, you should be on the up and up about it, and she should be able to understand.
