Q: Living kidney donation and MS

I have multiple sclerosis. I take Copaxone (disease modifyer) and Keppra (for seizures). Can I be a living kidney donor?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe you could be a living kidney donor.

The reason I say this is that MS has a way of attacking any part / organ of your body and if one kidney is donated who is to say that later your other kidney may fail and then you would be the one waiting for a kidney.

For a healthy person this would not be an issue but for individuals like you and I it is not as easy.

There may be certain diseases that automatically elminate us for the donor pool.
