Liver cancer symptoms
Liver cancer usually does not cause symptoms until later stages of the disease, so it is rarely detected early on. This is why early detection is difficult. When symptoms do occur, they may include symptoms that mimic other conditions. As cancer of the liver grows larger, people may notice one or more of these common symptoms:

• a mass on the right side of the torso
• an enlarged liver
• an enlarged spleen
• bloating or swelling in the stomach area
• breast enlargement
• continued abdominal pain ( upper abdomen right side )
• continued lack of appetite due to a feeling of fullness
• feeling very full after a small meal
• fever
• high blood calcium levels
• low blood sugar levels
• nausea or vomiting
• shrinking of the testicles
• skin itching
• worsening chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis
• yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)

Children with children's liver cancer may experience any of the above symptoms, but boys may also experience early puberty.

Complications
If left undiagnosed and untreated, liver cancer cells can undergo metastasis and spread cancer cells to other parts of the body. When cancer cells spread and form a new tumor in a different organ, the new tumor is called a "metastatic tumor".

When to seek help
If you have one or more risk factors for liver cancer and experience any of the symptoms listed above, you should see your doctor immediately. People at higher risk for liver cancer may also want to request liver cancer screening before any symptoms manifest.

• people at risk of developing liver cancer
• people with one or more risk factors that experience symptoms

Again, symptoms of liver cancer may go unnoticed during early stages of the disease. The symptoms listed above could be caused by liver cancer. But they can also be caused by other cancers or conditions. By seeing your doctor, you'll be able to determine if you are experiencing liver cancer or another condition.
