Liver hepatitis B symptoms are back after remission?

My mother was diagnosed w/hepatitis B over 1 1/2 yrs ago & her symptoms are coming back however, she was told that the hepatitis is in remission. Is this possible?

In most cases it is very unlikely to occur.

But , recurrance is possible due to re-infection with two different HBV infections, the second due to an HBV variant or a different HBV subtype.
