Q: Liver and gallbladder inflammation symptoms
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 28th, 2009
It has been about 5 months since laparoscopic appendectomy. Surgery went fine but it took me around a full 2 months to be up and moving around like normal. My question is that everytime i drink i have an achy pain that can last up to a week where my appendix used to be. I dont drink that often, maybe once every two weeks. I know its not my stomach because the pain that i feel is right where it hurt when i was about a week out of surgery. My eating habbits are normal, my BM's are normal, and everything is normal but when i drink. Any answers to why i have pain after i drink? thanks

According to the symptoms you reported, you might be experiencing inflammation of the liver and/or the gallbladder. The actual location of the pain in these conditions is located under the ribcage, (a little higher than you reported), but the location of the pain that originates from the inner organs (abdominal and thoracic) can sometimes be misinterpreted.

You might want to do certain blood tests that will include liver tests, and an ultrasound by a specialist for internal diseases.
